SOLI, Inc.

In 1960, Mr. Ed Mathews created a company called Steamex of Long Island. His company had become an immediate success due to promoting the Steamex carpet extractors. This machine had revolutionized the industry. In addition, he introduced his own line of cleaning chemicals called "SOLI" which is the abbreviation for Steamex of Long Island. He also, sold a wide selection of flooring supplies to the trade being a flooring contractor himself. He owned the business for 29 years before retiring in 1989. That year he sold the company to Jerry and Nelson Goldberg. As the new owners, they had developed a new line of restoration products and introduced certification courses and training seminars to educate the cleaning contractors. In 2001 the Goldberg's sold the company to the present owner Allan Pilossoph. This transition had taken place during the terriorist attack on the World Trade Center towers. This was an opportunity for SOLI to supply the local authorities with emergency chemicals, equipment and supplies to help deal with this terrible tragedy that took place in New York City. This had given SOLI a great deal of exposure and recognition throughout the tristate area. As an American citizens , we felt it was our constitutional duty to help the men and women who were injuried and lost their lives. That is why to this day we can proudly say SOLI is the "Home of the Pros".
